Both sides of the piece exhibit clean reddish-brown surfaces that are free of distractions. Pronounced doubling is noted on some of the peripheral lettering, including the first G in GEORGIUS, and on the 1 in the date. A faint die crack extends through EX and the tip of the bust to 6 o'clock on the obverse rim. The central design motifs are softly impressed, due to apparent die wear.
