1739 Admiral Vernon Medal, Porto Bello, -- Environmental Damage -- NGC Details. AU. Betts-221, Adams PBvi 5-E, R.5. The light golden-brown surfaces of this medal displaying faint wear are peppered with dark spots, though the strength of the design elements and the overall attractive color diminish their visual effect. The obverse design includes a cannon to the left of the full-length representation of Vernon, while a ship appears to the right. The date is tiny on the reverse, a characteristic of this variety. A few minor rim disturbances are present. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
