Massachusetts October 16, 1778 3 Pence Fr. MA-255. PCGS Choice New 63. This is from the second date and back style for the Revere "Codfish" bills. This series features the iconic images of the codfish and pine tree: the mainstays of the Massachusetts economy. The October 16, 1778, notes with the Thomas Fleet back used here are sometimes encountered in choice condition. This is a lesser denomination from the second series. It is sharply printed for the type, especially on the pine tree back, and has superior face-to-back registration. A perfect type note for the grade. Ex: Eric P.
