(Schenectady, New York) - Consistory of the Reformed Dutch Church, at Schenectady Aug. 8, 1793 1 Penny Newman page 308, Harris H11. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. This is another rare church issuer. Similar in size and style to several issues from the area printed by C. R. and G. Webster Albany, but with the imprint on the back. Ornamental bordering is all around. The text is across, with the denomination in the center and engraved "D. Romeyn" in script at the lower right. The back has the denomination, town name and "Church Money" enclosed by ornamental bordering. Noted with "Small Splits and Tears; Mounting Remnants on Back; Missing UR Corner." A similar example from the Newman Collection, but a full note graded PCGS Very Fine 30 Apparent, realized $470 in Newman Internet 1 in May 2016. Ex: Eric P.
