North Carolina April 2, 1776 $1/16 Vase of Flowers Fr. NC-153f. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent. This is another extremely rare lowest denomination type from the series and one of handful we have observed over the decades. From the face, this note has a solid appearance and a sharply detailed vignette. Noted with "Repaired Splits; Mounting Remnants on Back." We have auctioned one example, inferior to this, in our September 2009 Midnight Ride Collection sale. That PMG Very Good 10 Net example realized $690. The $1/16 April 2, 1776, Halifax types appear infrequently and usually in only the most advanced cabinets, such as Newman. A key opportunity for the specialist. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (5/2017).
