North Carolina April 2, 1776 $1/4 Halibut Fr. NC-155h PCGS Very Fine 20 Apparent. This is a handsome and rare $1/4 note showing another creature from the sea. Well margined with a bold signature of Williams on the face. Noted with "Edge Splits and Tears," which are very petty faults. The note has a natural appearance, strong paper, and fresh look. Superior to the Kings Mountain Collection example we sold in the 2011 Long Beach sale graded PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent for $1,035.
