Pennsylvania March 1, 1769 1 Pound 10 Shillings Contemporary Counterfeit Fr. PA-132. PCGS Very Fine 20. A scarce series of notes, and difficult to find in higher grades. The issue required withdrawal due to extensive and well-made counterfeits, such as this example. Plate C. The diagnostic on this plate is that the "B" in "Bills" (in the text) is low. This example is the Newman plate note in the fifth edition illustrated on page 473 in the appendix. "Pen Cancelled" on the face as noted. Interesting, very scarce, and attractive. Ex: Eric P.
