Rhode Island May 3, 1775 1 Shilling Fr. RI-177. PCGS Very Fine 20 Apparent. The Revolutionary War spurred numerous series of Rhode Island notes, mostly interest bearing, that were consistent in size format and style with Connecticut notes from the same period. This lesser denomination note is printed uniface on laid paper by John Carter, without imprint. Noted with "Small Edge Splits; Hinge Repairs on Back; Stains." This is in well above average condition, solid all around, and exhibiting some original embossing to the back. Ex: Eric P.
