Virginia October 5, 1778 $50 Fr. VA-162. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. The two highest denominations from this issue, $50 and $100, were typeset rather than engraved, in a much larger format than the lesser notes, and with an indented border at the left. The size and fragile laid paper makes these two high denominations difficult to obtain in high grades. Noted with "Edge and Internal Splits."
