(Pennsylvania) I (Joseph Ogden) Promise to Pay at Middle-Ferry at Schuylkill Uncut Single Pane Sheet of 3 Pence-4 Pence-5 Pence/6 Pence-9 Pence January 18, 1777 Hoober 305-815-819. PCGS About New 53 Apparent. A private issuer scrip note sheet printed on laid paper. We have not observed a signed note, though the issuer is considered ferry operator Joseph Ogden. These small format notes are printed in an interesting array with one blank space at the lower right. Each is typeset with ornamental borders. These were originally printed as double-pane sheets of ten notes. Noted with a "Repaired Split Near Top." Strong embossing is seen to the back. Ex: Eric P.
