State of Maryland - Act of May 10, 1781, continued November 1, 1791 6% Specie Certificate 100 Pounds December 19, 1791 Anderson-Smythe MD-7. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. A small format certificate printed on laid paper. 16.0 cm by 8.0 cm. Ornamental bordering is around the perimeter, text is typeset, the title is across, and small "specie" (with a long "s") is at top center. Issued and signed by Thomas Harwood, Maryland Colonial Currency signer, and endorsed on the back with the interest payable date. These certificates had ongoing act continuations from the Annapolis session that commenced May 10, 1781. These were also payable to the bearer, acting as currency if necessary.
