Description State of Massachusetts Bay - (Act of December 6, 1776) Bounty Note Ten Pounds Mar. 1, 1777 Anderson-Smythe MA-6. PCGS Very Fine 35. This is a slightly different variant of the engraved "Ten Pounds" denomination Bounty Note. Printed on laid paper. 16.0 cm by 19.0 cm. The style is nearly identical to MA-5: a partly printed form, spaces for the date, serial number (but here in centered brackets at the top), and payable date. The ornamental frame has wide bordering for the left end indent. Concealed [BOUNTY NOTE] is in the center of ornamental rows. An embossed stamp is at the center. No. 18845. Issued and signed by Cooper, Appleton, and Gardner (pen cancelled). Payable December 6, 1780. An endorsed interest statement is on the back. The serial number position is centered and in the assigned number range by Anderson (3,000-20,000). Noted with "Small Edge Tears; Minor Stain." Bright and with broad margins. Ex: Eric P.
