State of the Massachusetts Bay - (Act of October 13, 1777) 6% Treasury Loan Certificate due March 1, 1781 13 Pounds 13 Shillings Dec. 1, 1777 Anderson-Smythe MA-10. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. A fifth MA-10 "Sword in Hand" bond from the Newman Collection. Printed from a Nathaniel Hurd plate on laid paper. 20.5 cm by 21.50 cm. In the same layout as previous and with an embossed stamp on the text portion. No. 4466. Issued and signed by Scollay, Price, Boyer and Henry Gardner (pen cancelled). A red diagonal interest endorsement is at right on the face. Penned numerals are on the back. This has a high serial number for the issue type, and additional plate wear is observed, particularly around the vignette. Noted with "Small Edge Splits; Minor Stains." Ex: Eric P.
