Eufaula, AL - Young, Woods & Gardner, Bankers 10 Cents Jan. 1, "1662" (1862) Rosene 73-2. PCGS Very Fine 20. The issuer emitted several series of notes. There are also paper and plate variants. This example is intriguing because of the printed "1662," instead of 1862, error date. We believe this series is scarcer than others from the issuer. This example is printed on reused Georgia Bank of Columbus color tint drafts (showing a partial "ANTI-PH" that was the tint patent used by Baldwin, Bald, Cousland & Co., whose imprint is visible). A charming depiction of a ship at sea is between two "10" counters. Denomination panels are at both ends. The signatures of the bankers are crystal clear. Vibrant, and certain to elicit great interest with enthusiastic Alabama collectors. We have not seen another like it. Ex: Eric P.
