Fayetteville, AR - Stirman & Dickson 50 Cents Jan. 25, 1862 Rothert 201-2. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. The Civil War merchant pair printed this typeset series on the back of remainder 1842 Town of Fayetteville notes. The entire Stirman & Dickson series is complex due to multiple denominations, types and payable locations. These are listed around the perimeter of the note. In this case, Little Rock and Van Buren in Arkansas are included. But notably, Fort Gibson in the Indian Nation Territory, at that time controlled by Confederate forces, is also listed. Grading notes a "Minor Paperclip Rust Stain at Bottom Center." Bright, and nearly the complete host 50 cents note is seen on the back. Ex: Eric P.
