Stonington, CT - Stonington Bank $2 18__ CT-415 G16a. Remainder. PCGS Choice About New 58PPQ. This is a quintessential remainder type and ever-popular motif. The top left on this denomination is occupied by a dramatic whaling vignette adapted from The Whale Fishery-Attacking a Right Whale and Cutting In, engraved after the painting by Ambrose Louis Garneray. Engraved by Danforth, Wright & Co. The tint and protector are styled as on the previous, but the Williams portrait is now right of center, and the vignette at lower right shows a sailor.
