Newberry, FL - Bank of Newberry Cashier's Check $1 1933 Mitchell & Shafer FL300-1. Remainder. PCGS Gem New 65PPQ. The 1933 Depression Scrip notes are quite varied in style, location and rarity. Several Florida issues are rare, and this note is colorfully printed by H. & W.B. Drew & Co., Jacksonville, with a style that several Florida cities used. The vibrant green tint is quite striking. Both face and back are covered with a repeating pattern based on the original Florida State Seal: a Native American woman strewing flowers, a cocoa tree, and a steamboat with the motto "In God We Trust." The town is listed on Benice's authorizations for these notes, but not illustrated. This is the fourth denomination from the Newman Collection we have offered. Ex: Eric P.
