Athens, GA - Bank of the State of Georgia, Branch Bank at Athens $5 Feb. 3, 1860 GA-330 G136b. PCGS Very Fine 30. A very striking branch note with the imprint American Bank Note Co., New-York. The vignettes adapted from the original Danforth, Wright & Co. plate. The vermillion dies and guilloche are very vivid. The upper left shows a detailed vignette of Johnson Square in Savannah featuring an obelisk erected in 1825 to honor General Greene. At lower right is a Native American princess.
