Bainbridge, GA - Southern Bank of Georgia $2 Mar. 1, 1858 GA-80 G8a. PCGS Choice About New 55 Apparent. When the bank failed, examples from this series were notoriously altered all over the northern states. Striking vermillion dies dazzle the viewer. A harvesting scene is at top center, a plowing vignette is at lower left, and baby Mercury and a cherub holding grain are at lower right. The noted "Mounting Remnants on Back" do not detract from the face by Danforth, Wright & Co. New York & Philadelphia. Ex: Eric P.
