Macon, GA - Ocmulgee Bank $50 Jan. 1, 1838 GA-220 G12. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. The bank is available, but this high denomination is not often encountered. On this classically themed layout by Rawdon, Wright & Hatch, a scholar sits next to a plinth with the name MACON inscribed; a cherub flies at the left end, and Moneta sits at the lower right. The imprint of Rawdon, Wright & Hatch, New-York is at the bottom. "Mounting Remnants on Back" are noted by grading. Exceptionally well printed and bright. We sold a PCGS Very Fine 30 in January 2016 for $875. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (5/2017).
