Morgan, GA - Bank of Morgan $20 Mar. 9, 1857 GA-235 G16a. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. This $20 Bank of Morgan's rarity is not evident at first, but scrutiny indicates this is an extremely rare note. The $1, $2, $5,$10, and $50 issued notes from the bank are known and obtainable in choice condition. However, Alan Dorris, in his exhaustive Georgia Obsolete note cabinet, did not have this type. Beautifully engraved by Bald, Cousland & Co./Baldwin, Bald & Cousland. A boisterous cattle drive is depicted in the upper left, an oval male portrait is at the lower right, and a red XX protector is across. PCGS cites "Small Edge Tears."
