Rome, GA - Lot of 3 Western Bank of Georgia Issued Notes from Two Series $5 Jany. 5, 1838 GA-255 G8. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent. This is a first series demand note from the bank by Rawdon, Wright & Hatch, New-York. A transportation vignette is at at the top and a drovers scene is at the left end. "Missing Bottom Right Corner Tip," as noted by grading. Heavy endorsement on the back shows to the face. $10 May 15, 1841 GA-255 G14. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent. With the same imprint as above, but a later series and branch payable at Rome. Liberty sits at top center with a shield showing a banner inscribed with AGRICULTURE and COMMERCE. Noted are: "Stains; Edge Tears; Minor Ink Erosion; Hinges on Back." $20 July 13, 1840 GA-255 G20. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent. Same series as last, payable in Rome. Livestock are featured at top center, and the Cornhusker (after William Sidney Mount) harvests at the right end. "Stains at Right" and a "Small Repair at Left" are mentioned by grading.
