Savannah, GA - Planters Bank of the State of Georgia $1 Jan. 4, 1861 GA-320 G8a. PCGS Very Fine 20. A horse frightened by a train is subdued at top center. The dual imprint of Danforth, Spencer & Hufty, New York/Spencer, Hufty & Danforth, Philadelphia is at the bottom, and the note has a red security back. A gorgeous example. Underrated in this condition as the $1 notes from the bank circulated heavily. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society, Heritage Auctions Internet Sale (5/2017).
