Columbia, IL - S. Gardner by A. Moore 25 Cents Nov. 15, 1862. PCGS Fine 15. Columbia is in southern Illinois, across the Mississippi from St. Louis. The note shares a size and style like a few other issuers from the region. The imprint of T. Schrader, St. Louis is at bottom left. An eagle on a shield appears at top left on this scrip note. Fully issued, and the signatures line reads "S. Gardner by A. Moore" We have only cataloged remainder notes from the series, and that was in 2001. A significant rarity. Ex: Eric P.
