Lafayette, IN - Pioneer Association $5 18__ AS-120 G6a, WVS 359-3. Remainder. PCGS Very Fine 30 Apparent. The issuer was mysterious and apparently short-lived, but many of the leftover notes were altered to other banks across the country. These "Altered Source" notes have a special listing in the Haxby appendix for this reason. A very attractive type with full red tint by Bald, Cousland & Co. The upper left corner is dominated by an intense drovers scene. At lower right are men loading a hay wagon. A white outlined "5" protector is within the tint plate.
