A beautifully engraved pair by Toppan, Carpenter & Co., Cincinnati with the size and style of period banknotes. $1 October 2, 1854 WVS 555-1. PCGS Choice About New 58PPQ Loggers work at top center. A hay wagon scene is at lower left and Washington is at lower right. Light handling and well margined. $3 October 2, 1854 WVS 555-2. PCGS Very Choice New 64PPQ. A classic $3 bill from Indiana. At the top are a canal boat scene and a long train in the distance. Ceres holds "3" counter at upper left, and Webster is at lower right. The upper left cut is just slightly wavy, but nearly a Gem.
