Le Claire, IA - Davenport, Rogers & Co. $2 Ca. 1860s Oakes 88-2. PCGS Very Good 10 Apparent. This is a scarce banknote-sized private issuer printed by Hosford & Co. Under the title is a view of ships and town buildings as viewed from a wharf. A beehive is at the lower left, and a Native American is seen at the lower right. The red protector TWO at the bottom has wide spacing. The date is faint, but the note is issued. "Edge Splits, Tears, and Minor Damage" are noted by grading. Ex: Eric P.
