(Wichita), KS - V. F. Ferguson 50 Cents Undated (Ca. 1880s-1890s) Whitfield 1. PCGS Very Good 8. Another Kansas representative of the "Not Intended to be Used as Money" class of scrip, classified as "Merchandise Due Bills" in Whitfield. Printed two sides on bond paper, in all green, with the imprint of J.M. Padgett Coupon Co., Topeka on the face margin. An eagle is at left, text is in the right center, and a small counter is at upper right. The back text states it "possesses no money value whatever..." This is a rarer series from the issuer, and the Newman Collection denominations are the first we have cataloged. Ex: Eric P.
