Louisville, KY - Lot of 3 Bank of Louisville False Notes. $1 April 1, 1843 Spurious Issue KY-190 S5, Hughes 524var. PCGS Good 6 Apparent. At the top of this spurious issue, an early train travels east and, in the background, a steamship named H. Clay travels west. Noted are "Hinge Repaired Internal Tears." $10 Contemporary Counterfeit June 1, 1850 KY-190 UNL, Hughes 540. PCGS Very Good 10. Commerce is at top center on this counterfeit, gesturing toward the sea. The note copies the genuine plate, but crudely. Branch in Paducah $5 Contemporary Counterfeit Mar. 1, 1858 KY-190 C92, Hughes 535var. PCGS Fine 12 Apparent. A branch type. A Millard Fillmore portrait is at the center under the arced title, and allegorical Liberty and Mechanic are at the ends. "Mounting Remnants and Minor Damage on Back" are cited by PCGS. Ex: Eric P.
