Monroe, LA - Vicksburg, Shreveport & Texas Railroad Company 50 Cents Jan. 13, 1862. PCGS Very Good 10. This is an issuer with interesting series and variants that merit study. The fact that the title crosses three states makes it popular. The Gothic "A" may indicate a series rather than a plate position. This is printed on plain paper and its design is different from the following example. An early train is at the top and in a cartouche at the right end. A standing Native American hunter is at the left. The payable in "circulating medium of Louisiana" clause is at the bottom. This note is well circulated, but still pleasing. Ex: Eric P.
