New Orleans, LA - Bank of Louisiana $5 Apr. 11, 1859 LA-75 G8a. PCGS Very Good 8. Bank of Louisiana note are widely varied and are an interesting area of study. The face was engraved by Fairman, Draper, Underwood & Co. and the color back by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson. Allegorical figures are intertwined in a "5" at top center flanked by widely spaced dies. FIVE is at each end, with the one at the right side slanting backwards. A red protector FIVE is at the bottom. The blue back has the FIVE outlined denomination in English at center. Ex: Eric P.
