Description English penny, 1920. The complete quote reads ?The King is no good. He is not loyal.? It was a view widely held by Ulster Unionists to describe King George V's inaction in regard to supporting a Loyalist version of any Home Rule bill proposed in the early 1900's. Though unclear, the phrase was reportedly uttered by Unionist politician Sir Edward Carson. For a more comprehensive explanation see Note 17 in the ?Notes? section of my ?Census of Documented Irish Political Tokens.? Purchased from Raymond Steet / Basingstone, Hampshire, UK. (Dc. 20, 2017) ($1).
