||The seller who grew up on the Lower Newtownards Rd. in East Belfast kept this coin and four others listed here as souvenirs of his youth. He told me that he actually used to stamp coins in his metalwork class at school, being told that these defacements would hurt the economy of the Irish Republic. However, the five examples in my collection were not stamped by him personally. These are authentic reminders of those troubled times. Purchased from Davy Morrison / Newtownards, Co. Down, N. Ireland. (Dc. 7, 2018) ($12).
