Seller's comments were as follows: "I bought them two or three years ago from an old friend in Belfast. He's of the Unionist persuasion. The OUT means they want all Southern Irish coins and influence out. In those days Irish and English coins were of the same value so many circulated in the north to the annoyance of Unionists." Oddly, all OUT examples I've seen have the same look as to font size and style which suggests the same issuer. Purchased from Noel Lynch / Friern Park, London, UK. (Fb. 2, 2021) ($3). |
