1850 1C N-15, R.2, MS67 Brown NGC. Our EAC Grade MS64. Sensational bluish-brown surfaces exhibit full cartwheel luster with no marks on either side. A trace of orange mint color remains in the protected areas on the reverse of this Superb Gem cent. The sharp strike and highly lustrous surfaces make up for a lack of mint color. Variety: A plentiful variety with the reverse die also appearing on N-1. Grellman Die State a, showing clear evidence of all of the lines and points described in Bob Grellman's reference. Population Data (3/15): For all die varieties, NGC shows nine submissions in MS67 Brown and two MS67 Red and Brown with none finer. Heritage Commentary: This exceptional N-15 cent is certainly a Condition Census piece following the two Naftzger coins, which are the finest known examples. Provenance: Purchased from Aspen Park Rare Coins (1/3/2012).
