1855 1C Slanted 55, N-10, R.1, MS64 Red and Brown NGC. CAC. Our EAC Grade MS64. Nearly full mint color is subdued with delicate brown toning on the obverse and traces of brown on the reverse. The exceptional surfaces display a bold strike with every star complete. Variety: The mattelike appearance of the fields is typical of Grellman Die State e. Population Data (4/15): Several hundred Mint State pieces survive, including quite a number with original mint color. Heritage Commentary: The 1855 N-10 is the usually seen Slanted 55 variety, a great choice for date or type collectors. Provenance: Stack's (1/2002), lot 868.
