Making Money CRHing Uncirculated Boxes 1/4/2018

    Making Money CRHing Uncirculated Boxes

This video is a discussion and story about how I make $15 on each box of uncirculated pennies I get from the bank. I won't have a chance to coin roll hunt for anything other than errors, so no Indian Head pennies, no Wheat Cent pennies, and no foreign coins, but I do have an opportunity to pick up some extra cash! Just list the pennies in batches of 25 rolls (or however you think you can do it best) and they should sell (as they did for me!).

Had a great start to the coin roll hunting in 2018! Outside of the earlier box of pennies that were all 2017 P (and I turned a profit on!!!) I hadn't done a real CRH the whole year (get it) and struck silver immediately! Should mean we'll continue with a strong new year of coin roll hunting, bank strap searching, information, and overall channel growth! No Buffalo or V-Nickels but maybe we can get a few this year!

UNSEARCHED MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR POUCH CC's & MORE FOUND

I was given an opportunity to search a friend's inherited Morgan Silver Dollar pouch that was given to him by his deceased grandfather. He knew I was into coins and I asked him if I could search live(ish) for my coin collecting YouTube channel. Inside are different Peace and Morgan silver dollars - it's almost like a silver dollar coin roll hunt except I know that the coins are silver! Unfortunately I won't be able to keep any of the money / rare coins, but there are certainly some major finds within. Nothing CRAZY but definitely worthwhile of a highlighted YouTube post! I believe this is the first video of its kind on YouTube.

RobFindsTreasure is a relatively new, similar to mine, coin roll hunting and bank strap searching channel. He owns a couple of other channels though, so he's experienced with video production. He has released some really cool and interesting videos, and interacts with the community well - I've seen him in the comment section of some of my coin roll hunting videos. He also does some minor metal detecting and publishes really often, so he has a steady stream of content.

Croff Coins is someone that earned his spot by being active in my comment section and a general supporter of the channel. His channel is not quite as well known but there is a lot of cool, hidden undiscovered content that is worth watch. I really like some of his 'Question' videos, and he also has a neat video on his grandfather's coins, foreign coins, and even finding a Morgan dollar at the bank (something which I have done, by the way, and will likely produce a video in the upcoming months as a Storytime style video) so there's some neat variety in the mix.

Our third channel for today is one that has recently emerged on a major upward trend, and wouldn't surprise me if they become a main coin channel in the future. A true 'coin related channel', Coins for Amateurs provides valuable information on lots of different numismatic subjects, produces cool specialty or niche videos, uploads fun coin roll hunts, and is involved with enjoyable live stream coin roll hunting efforts with other top coin channels. I also am really encouraged by the presence of a full family who enjoys coins, rather than just a lone wolf, so to speak, so you can tell that CFAs passion for coins, bills, coin roll hunting, metal detecting, and more is all genuine. As a quick mention, I've connected with Coins for Amateurs on Instagram, so you can reach them there as well.

The fourth channel I'm featuring today is someone who is really involved on the community side of things and also is growing a channel of her own. I'm not sure how exactly to pronounce it, but Viviscruisen Coins is often found sponsoring other channels' live streams, commenting on and watching lots of coin videos, and bolstering her own coin knowledge. Additionally, she also gives back to the community, as she has published some informative and well-produced videos, such as one on spotting fake silver rounds, community shoutouts, and fun mini hunts as well. Looking forward to some of her hunts and other upcoming videos in the future! The last channel I'm going to talk about also comes with a bit of a bonus.

Logan the Collector is someone who I've connected with on Instagram, a few group chats, and obviously on YouTube as well. After a little activity in 2014, he took a long break, but is back with coin roll hunting, coin collecting, bottle hunting, bottle collecting, coin information, banknote hunting, and community mail coin trades. I've enjoyed some of his cool videos - we both found steel pennies in circulation and are involved in the same coin group, something called Young Numismatists. I'm on the much older side of YN, but it's a group of coin enthusiasts who have an Instagram and YouTube channel. Though I'm in the group, I unfortunately can't be super active with it due to scheduling constraints, but it's a group for younger coin collectors and gets an honorable mention of sorts at the end!

Coin, Currency, and Numismatic Trivia is the new series that I'm really looking forward to starting! LET ME KNOW HOW MANY YOU GET ON YOUR OWN! There will be trivia questions about lots of different aspects of coin collecting and related things! 12 Questions Per Video. I talk over the video a lot to give relevant background information (and some irrelevant) but the point is to provide a fun coin trivia atmosphere and not a super boring monotone coin presentation. In this episode, we cover topics like pattern coins, coin grading companies, gold coins, gold prices, silver coins, three cent coins, state quarters, commemorative quarters, Mercury dimes, key dates, error coins, two cent coins, twenty cent coins, and whatever weird questions that I can come up with! If you enjoyed, LET ME KNOW! I really love doing this segment and want to continue, but if it's not popular, I probably won't.

    2018 Winter Olympics Coins - Pyeongchang 2/15/2018

2018 Winter Olympics Coins - Pyeongchang

The Pyeongchang Winter Olympics has a series of cool gold, silver, and bronze (zinc/copper) coins to commemorate the 2018 games! Featuring a wide variety of sports such as alpine skiing, luge, biathlon, figure skating, speed skating, skeleton, hockey, and more, they are wonderful proof coins. The presentation is shorter as I'm currently on vacation, but with the winter olympics happening around us, I figured the coin information would be interesting! These are from the first of two coin series.

UNSEARCHED MORGANS PART 2 - Key Dates Update & Reveal

I was given an opportunity to search a friend's inherited Morgan Silver Dollar pouch that was given to him by his deceased grandfather. Some really cool coins came out of the deal as the Carson City mint appeared in a cool way and there were some XF/AU semi-key date ones in the mix. Overall, each coin is likely worth at least $100, with some reaching higher values (watch the video to find out more & why).

5 Coin Related Channels To Watch - March 2018 3/14/2018

5 Coin Related Channels To Watch - March 2018

I want to grow the coin community on YouTube and I think this is one way to do it! This video is about five coin related or affiliated channels that I'd like to pay some attention to and recommend as ones to watch in March 2018. A new monthly series I'm releasing, if you'd like to be featured in an upcoming one let me know (or if you think someone else deserves it as well!!!) Lots of cool channels to check out like Ashdigger, WisTex Vlogs, Ken Peavey, RavenHawk Coins, and Silver Snatcher!

Silver Snatcher - Silver Snatcher is a relatively new and developing channel that emerged onto the scene of coin roll hunting and coin collecting on YouTube about a month ago. The channel is primarily focused on the former, but there have been some impressive finds that I'd wish would be on my channel! Silver Snatcher found someone's coin collection dump for spot value and has also found other silver halves and dimes recently. Additionally, Silver Snatcher has hunted impressive boxes of pennies and also hopped on for some fun live stream action. Unfortunately, I didn't see the stream, but from the live replay it looks like people enjoyed.

Ashdigger - Ashdigger is a personal friend but someone who also produces high quality treasure related videos, albeit not very often. I knew Ashdigger in person before I knew about his treasure related hobbies, and he is an expert in bottle digging and also quite knowledgeable at metal detecting. He collects coins, and though his videos are mostly related to bottle digging, you never know where they might go! I'm planning on some collaboration with him in the future, whether it's in the summer, sooner, or later, the videos will be awesome. I'll introduce him more at another point, but his videos are well produced and he remains an authority on bottle digging (and is slowly convincing me to do that) as well as metal detecting.

Ken Peavey - Ken Peavey's channel gets the coin community award for this month - his supporters really care about his success, and I've only heard positive things about his channel. He has an active coin live streaming schedule, with videos on topics ranging from copper hoarding to coin holders to die varieties to selling to wheat cents. Our channels are relatively similar in size, but the main difference is that while I do prerecorded coin information, coin roll hunting, coin trivia, and other fun coin related things, he does them live, which is something I'd like to integrate into my channel at some point.

Wistex Vlogs - I first heard of Wistex Vlogs after his production with Quin's Coins, another coin YouTuber. Wistex Vlogs contributed to a fun coin roll hunting pennies competition hunt livestream where Wistex Vlogs sponsored the giveaways that went on. Additionally, I had a chance to chat with him over Instagram, and he is a passionate coin collector and really cares about the coins he talks about. On his channel he has a variety of videos, some of which include mail calls, unboxings, collection updates, and tracking of his type sets and various other collecting endeavors.

RavenHawk Coins - A regular supporter of my videos in the comments, RavenHawk Coin seems to care about the community as he is seen in many coin video comment sections, treasure related live streaming efforts, and also has sponsored a lot of giveaways over the time that his channel has been active. He also does a lot of sing a longs, which admittedly I don't watch, but he seems to do them for the community which is nice of him. He also has a signature coin roll hunting setup - if you see coin roll hunting with the rolls piled up in connected pyramids or triangular prisms, you know it's RavenHawk. In addition to sing a longs, coin roll hunting, and giveaways, he also does videos on coin collecting tips and coin related news or finds. Give his channel a look if you think you're interested in his content!

SILVERS & 1800s World Coin Loot Bag Half Pound Search - Bag #6 3/15/2018

SILVERS & 1800s World Coin Loot Bag Half Pound Search - Bag #6

I received a ton of mixed coins as a bonus from work about a year ago. Instead of sorting through all of them on my own or all at last, I am breaking them up in to half pound lots (like a world coins loot bag or world coins collection) for me to search over the next year(ish?) This was probably our best lot so far!! Looking forward to doing more coin related videos such as coin roll hunting, coin information, coins worth money, bank strap searching, and more in the future. We find old French coins, British coins, Yugoslavian coins, German coins, Scottish coins, Irish coins, Czechoslovakian coins, Peruvian coins, Dominican coins, Portuguese coins, Mexican coins, Israeli coins, East Caribbean coins, Spanish coins, Swedish coins, Danish coins, Russian coins, Austrlian coins, Panamanian coins, Austrian coins, Argentinian coins, Egyptian coins, Syrian coins, South African coins, Sierra Leone coins, Indian coins, Thai coins, Greek coins, Chile coins, Kenyan coins, Jamaican coins, Bahamian coins, and more across the series!

1964 Penny Worth Money - How Much Is It Worth And Why 3/17/2018

1964 Penny Worth Money - How Much Is It Worth And Why

I'm starting a new series every other week highlighting a different coin you may find in pocket change or in a collection worth money. Whether it's an error penny, variety penny, or key date penny, the pennies worth money are often worth big money - and I'm here to show you what to look for via a discussion of where the error or variety is on the coin and then close up pictures of it. If you watch, you may find pennies worth big money after cherrypicking. This specific video is about 1964 pennies worth money - these 1964 double die error coins can be worth $100 or more in the right condition! Best of luck finding one of these awesome 1964 pennies.

HUGE Unsearched Coin Collection Unboxing & Appraisal 3/19/2018

HUGE Unsearched Coin Collection Unboxing & Appraisal

We took in a huge coin collection that a coin collector sold us in the store the other day, and I have a chance to search the previously unsearched section that we purchased. In this massive coin collection search, we found some really cool wheat pennies, buffalo nickels, V nickels, silver dimes, uncirculated wheat pennies, and semi key date coins in addition to some other surprises. I enjoyed this unboxing and loved finding the hidden treasure in the collection. Not to mention the different proof sets, uncirculated sets, and more! Watch the video to see all of the cool things and I included the coin collection's value at the end with an appraisal based off of a conservative (low) estimate.

This is in my Standing Liberty Quarter collection and is not a no date as many Standing Liberty Quarters have no date.

$500 BANK STRAP SEARCH - Star Notes, Trinaries, Birthday Notes, and 20th Century 3/26/2018

$500 BANK STRAP SEARCH - Star Notes, Trinaries, Birthday Notes, and 20th Century

Today we get to do something I've really wanted to do for a while: search currency for fancy serial numbers. We bank strap hunt $500 in $1 bills for birthday notes, older notes, trinary notes, star notes, and anything else special like Barr notes, binary notes, or super-repeaters (nearly got a few!!). This currency search was very successful, as we got lots of finds that might be valuable or special to some. I look forward to bank strap searching more in the future - maybe we can find some cooler birthday notes, even rarer serial numbers, or something else special!

DREAM PENNY BOX - STEEL ENDERS, 100 YR+ WHEATS, OLD CANADIAN 4/2/2018

DREAM PENNY BOX - STEEL ENDERS, 100 YR+ WHEATS, OLD CANADIAN

CHECK THIS ONE OUT! This has been by far my best ever penny box. $25 in pennies has never resulted in this good of a box for me - from 100+ year old cents, 1940s Canadians, multiple steel cents (including an ENDER!!!) and a total of 46 (!!!) pulls, I couldn't have asked for better (outside of maybe an Indian Head XD). Anyways, a hunt that you can't miss - one of the best hunts of 2018 for sure.

Free PR70 Quarter - American Numismatic Association Coin Week 2018 Unboxing 4/5/2018

Free PR70 Quarter - American Numismatic Association Coin Week 2018 Unboxing

There is a program sponsored by the American Numismatic Association for the 2018 Coin Week where anyone under 18 years of age (maybe your kids, grandkids, siblings, or yourself) is able to fill out a matching section of bridges on coins for a free proof state quarter. I got an awesome state quarter from South Carolina (2000) graded by SGS (Star Grading Service) and would totally do it again if I could - it took about 5-10 minutes and the reward was definitely worth it! One thing to note is that SGS generally overgrades coins, so I doubt that this is a PR70 coin. However, it looks nice and is definitely uncirculated.

$500.00+ FACE VALUE 90% Silver Search - Seated, Barber, SLQs & More

I got my hands on a bag of over $500 dollars of face value in 90% silver and couldn't wait to search it! We were sending much of it to APMEX so I asked to search it and potentially find some cool silver coins. Worth well over five thousand dollars, this hunt was a really cool one to be a part of and I enjoyed finding uncirculated Washington Quarters, toned silver quarters, Standing Liberty Quarters, Barber Quarters, Kennedy Half Dollars, Franklin Half Dollars, Walking Liberty Half Dollars, Mercury Dimes, Roosevelt Dimes, Barber Dimes, and Seated Liberty Dimes. I'm using some of this in my recent 1000 Subscriber giveaway so be sure to check that out!

5 Coin Related Channels To Watch - April 2018 4/11/2018

5 Coin Related Channels To Watch - April 2018

I want to grow the coin community on YouTube and I think this is one way to do it! This video is about five coin related or affiliated channels that I'd like to pay some attention to and recommend as ones to watch in April 2018. A new monthly series I'm releasing, if you'd like to be featured in an upcoming one let me know (or if you think someone else deserves it as well!!!) Lots of cool channels to check out like BlueRidgeSilverHound, Silveroo Coineroo, Coin and Card Hobbyist, AshtonCoinHunts, and Pam's Coins!

Pam's Coins - One of the first ever channels that I encountered after starting my own videos back in August, Pams Coins gets a spot in this April feature for many reasons. She is an avid coin roll hunter with notable dedication to uploading consistent and high-quality videos. She coin roll hunts everything from pennies to nickels to half dollars, finding errors, silver, old coins, and varieties. In general, she uploads multiple times per week and recently has also posted things such as mail calls. I also appreciate her honesty when hunting - some of her videos are strike-outs, and to me that shows authenticity and a willingness to admit that coin roll hunting won't ALWAYS give you crazy finds as some channels might lead you to believe.

Coin and Card Hobbyist - Coin and Card Hobbyist is an awesome member of the community with a channel of somewhat similar size to mine. She uploads lots of videos, between mail calls, awesome coin roll hunts (including a really cool video called 'EPIC HALF DOLLAR COIN ROLL HUNT' that truly was epic, eBay Wheat Penny Rolls, and more. The coin commentary involved is knowledgeable and fun. She's also focused on the community and interacts with it constantly, helping to build it up and foster a sense of togetherness. She has also watched some of my videos and comments relatively often, encouraging me to produce more and continue my YouTube coin journey!

AshtonCoinHunts - AshtonCoinHunts is a relatively newer channel dedicated (obviously) to hunting coins. Whether it's coin roll hunting, metal detecting, or unveiling of metal detecting finds, Ashton seems passionate and dedicated to his work. Additionally, Ashton has a couple of unique videos, such as one on how to make a coin microscope for under five dollars, another on Canadian half dollar and dollar searches, and a mail call. Ashton has been active in terms of interacting with my channel in the comments and seems to bring enthusiasm and positivity to the coin collecting channel, and I wish him all the best for upward growth in the future!

BlueRidgeSilverHound - BlueRidgeSilverhound is the 'large channel' shoutout of this month as his channel is one of the largest ones dedicated to numismatic pursuits that I am aware of. He has produced videos for a long time and I remember learning some interesting coin facts due to his channel. The breadth of topics covered is amazing and awesome, and BlueRidge's knowledge is clearly vast. For example, his recent videos include specific variety cherrypicking videos, discussions on Mint Sets, worthless coins, coin investing, ramifications of buying a stolen coin collection, and bank strap hunting specifics. As you can see, BRSH has lots of awesome info designed for our benefit, and should be highlighted as a knowledge contributor to our environment here on YouTube.

Silveroo Coineroo - Silveroo Coineroo is a member of Young Numismatists, a group that I was invited to and talk with regularly. Silveroo is not as much of a coin roll hunting channel per se as many of those featured, but does have some coin roll hunting materials. In addition to coin roll hunting, Silveroo also uploads a variety of mail calls, wheat penny roll searches, type set updates, coin pickups, gold panning material, and other numismatically focused content. Additionally, Silveroo has helped to contribute to some coin trivia videos and I've also seen silveroo in my comment section many times and enjoy chatting with him on Instagram via our direct messages.

RARE COINS FOUND Half Pound World Coin Search - Bag #7 4/19/2018

RARE COINS FOUND Half Pound World Coin Search - Bag #7

I received a ton of mixed coins as a bonus from work about a year ago. Instead of sorting through all of them on my own or all at last, I am breaking them up in to half pound lots (like a world coins loot bag or world coins collection) for me to search over the next year(ish?) This was probably the lot with the most consistent concentration of older coins so far! Looking forward to doing more coin related videos such as coin roll hunting, coin information, coins worth money, bank strap searching, and more in the future. We find old French coins, British coins, Canadian coins, Yugoslavian coins, German coins, Scottish coins, Irish coins, Czechoslovakian coins, Peruvian coins, Dominican coins, Portuguese coins, Mexican coins, Israeli coins, East Caribbean coins, Spanish coins, Swedish coins, Danish coins, Russian coins, Austrlian coins, Panamanian coins, Austrian coins, Argentinian coins, Egyptian coins, Syrian coins, South African coins, Sierra Leone coins, Indian coins, Thai coins, Greek coins, Chile coins, Kenyan coins, Jamaican coins, Bahamian coins, and more across the series! There have been old foreign coins, silver world coins, and other cool varieties along the way!

Ultimate Coin Trivia #3 U.S. Coin Information Quiz

Coin, Currency, and Numismatic Trivia is the new series that I'm really enjoying continuing! In this episode, we may cover topics like paper money, Indian head cents, Jefferson nickels, overdates, Morgan dollars, older gold coins, silver certificates, pattern coins, coin grading companies, gold coins, gold prices, silver coins, three cent coins, state quarters, commemorative quarters, Mercury dimes, key dates, error coins, two cent coins, twenty cent coins, and whatever weird questions that I can come up with!

Weirdest Item Found EVER Hunting Machine Wrapped $25 Penny Box 4/26/2018

Weirdest Item Found EVER Hunting Machine Wrapped $25 Penny Box

Take a look at this crazy and weird hunt. outside of the 2501th object in the box, the penny coin roll hunt seemed to be average - there was a nice spread of circulated wheat cents, an uncirculated wheat cent, some Canadian and foreign coins, and of course some 2009 coinage. I wanted to find a 2018 penny like Coins For Amateurs, but didn't :( Anyways, the weird find is so strange since this is literally machine wrapped rolls! There were 51 coins in this roll (if you call the red piece of plastic a coin, which it isn't) which is even stranger! Anyways, I needed to share this hunt :)

$500 Currency Hunt - RARE Birthday Note & Star Notes!!!

Just got finished finalizing this bank strap hunt for rare currency notes. We were able to do $500 worth of 1 dollar bills and the results proved to be good! We found some really cool notes, from consecutive serial numbers to near-rare notes to birthday notes (11/08/1997 anyone) to of course star notes... I really enjoyed the search. I wonder what the tellers say when I hand them like $985 in ones (from the last hunt too)... preparing to be surprised haha!

PROOF & ERROR IKE JACKPOT CACHE Large Dollar Bag Hunt + SBA PROOFS 5/10/2018

PROOF & ERROR IKE JACKPOT CACHE Large Dollar Bag Hunt + SBA PROOFS

WOW! This was a really awesome hunt... hundreds of dollars in unsearched Eisenhowers and at least a hundred Susan B Anthony coins that I was able to search (and buy at face value). There was a treasure vein of proof large dollars (proof Eisenhower dollars) and we were able to take advantage of it. I also was searching for peg leg Eisenhowers and Type 2 / Type 3 1972 Eisenhowers, and we found some of those as well. No near rim 1979 Susan B Anthony unfortunately, but the jackpot of proof dollars leading to one of the most memorable, epic coin hunts was totally worth it. Hope to get another coin roll hunt involving large dollars in the future!

GREAT Penny Box - Uncirculated Wheats & Foreigns FOUND 5/14/2018

GREAT Penny Box - Uncirculated Wheats & Foreigns FOUND

Excited to share the process and results of my most recent coin roll hunt of $25 in pennies - it was an awesome hunt, with a plethora of 2009s, lots of Canadians, a genuine foreign find, and a large harvest of wheat pennies (including uncirculated wheat pennies and older, pre-1940 wheat pennies). All in all this box of pennies was a great success - too bad on the Indian Head whiff but still very good.
