New Jersey December 31, 1763 3 Pounds Contemporary Counterfeit NJ-159. PCGS Very Fine 20 Apparent. Like most Colonial note counterfeits, rarer than the original type it mimics. Compared with a genuine note, the seal details stand out as different and better defined. The Newman counterfeit appendix notes the following diagnostics within the red text: a lower "d" at the end of "and," a higher "D" in "December," and a thicker right upright of "H" in "THREE" (compared to the left). Noted with "Mounting Remnants and Minor Damage." This example face up well and exhibits the diagnostic details splendidly. Ex: Eric P.
